May through October, the ceremony moves under the sailcloth tent or into the main hall, whichever is not set for reception. November through April, weddings are indoors, with an additional indoor ceremony room in winter. The weather decision is two hours before the ceremony. The backup ceremony space has no extra charge.

Using outside catering is allowed with a $20.00 per-person venue fee. Using an outside DJ is allowed with a $5.00 per-person venue fee. Using an outside coordinator is allowed with a $5.00 per-person venue fee. Outdoor music requires the venue's preferred DJ. Applicable outside-vendor venue fees stack. These are venue fees in addition to outside vendors' own charges. This is the current approved policy, not a date-specific agreement; confirm your agreement with the venue.

The Sugar Lake team can discuss evening tour times; no tour has been scheduled.

Sugar Lake is closed for weddings on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Sugar Lake per-person bar options: Mocktail $20; Beer & Wine $35; Beer/Wine/Signatures $45; Standard Open Bar $55; Craft Open Bar $70. Sugar Lake supplies any alcohol served. These are options, not automatic package inclusions.

At Sugar Lake, in-house buffet service is typically $50–$85 per person and plated service $85–$100 per person. Catering is additional to Venue Rental and Magnolia base prices. The team must confirm a tailored menu and quote.

The Arbor House is the honeymoon cottage; the other four buildings are cabins. Every Magnolia and both elopements include one Arbor House night. Rental-only add-ons: full wedding cottage $750, cabins $2,000, both $2,500; Micro cottage $500, cabins $1,750, both $2,000. Cabins are never included; May–October only. Arbor House is year-round. Combined prices apply only without an included cottage. Stays are one event night; Saydee handles full-weekend rentals.

Sugar Lake includes general venue setup, teardown, cleaning and trash removal. Full Venue Rental charges $1,250 extra for tent reception setup and $975 for lakeside ceremony setup. Micro Venue Rental charges $850 and $475 respectively. Magnolia includes its specified tent reception setup. Confirm the package and layout before quoting additions.

Sugar Lake deposits are $2,500 for full weddings, $1,500 for Micro weddings and $500 for elopements. A booking requires both a signed contract and a received deposit. For full and Micro weddings booked at least one year ahead, 50% is paid within the first three months, another 25% six months before the wedding, and the balance plus additions 30 days before. For shorter lead times, payments are monthly; the balance plus additions is due 30 days before. Monthly installment amounts depend on the booking details.

Mailed checks are welcome; allow up to three days to post. Credit cards carry a 3.5% processing fee. Existing agreements remain governed by their own terms.

Sugar Lake’s pet deposit is $250; $125 is refundable if the pet does not stay overnight in the cottage. Pets may attend the ceremony but not the reception. A pet may stay in a rented Arbor House during the reception and must be crated whenever unsupervised.

For a Sugar Lake booking under an existing signed agreement, the agreement’s terms govern. A new published rate does not automatically replace the signed price; the team can check that particular agreement.

The grounds of Sugar Lake Weddings are a lush paradise filled with a stunning array of features. Couples can enjoy beautiful gardens blooming with seasonal flowers, serene walks along the lake, and shaded areas from towering trees, all perfect for wedding photos. Highlighted by a picturesque gazebo and a small woodland area, the venue's unique atmosphere creates a connection with nature that many couples cherish during their special day.

Sugar Lake Weddings began as a family-owned estate. The owners transformed it into a wedding venue to share the lake and surrounding grounds with couples.

Yes — we have walkthrough videos, aisle point-of-view videos, and drone footage of the property.

No — day-of coordination is not required. It's included in our Magnolia Collection, and you're welcome to add it if you'd like, but with the Venue Rental it's entirely optional.

Open-flame candles and outdoor sparklers are allowed. Fireworks aren't permitted because of our wooded surroundings.

Music and the party end by 11 p.m. due to the local noise ordinance.

Outside desserts and cookie tables are welcome at Sugar Lake Weddings. The Magnolia Collection includes a two-tier cutting cake with a tasting. Saydee can confirm setup specifics.

Three ceremony sites: Forest, Lakeside and Fireside. Reception spaces are the Hall and the Tent. Ceremony sites can be paired with either reception space, subject to seasonal tent restrictions.

The property is accessible with one exception: the groom’s lounge mezzanine is not accessible.

The team shares any review incentive with couples after their wedding.

At Sugar Lake Weddings, the Welcome Session is the first planning meeting after booking, usually within the first two weeks. Catering, florals, photography and videography are quoted separately from the package and finalized during this meeting around the couple’s plans and budget.

Shots are not served at the bar. Bar options include beer, wine, signature cocktails and mixed drinks.

Sugar Lake provides alcohol in-house; no BYO or corkage. The confirmed exceptions are champagne in the bridal suite and one bottle in the groom’s lounge.

Sugar Lake Weddings provides in-house catering. An outside caterer must be licensed, insured and reputable; friends or family cooking are not permitted for liability reasons. Outside desserts and cookie tables are welcome. Saydee can discuss menu and dietary specifics.

Gratuity is not included. Tipping is optional and entirely at the couple’s discretion.
