Sugar Lake is a 135-acre estate with a private lake, towering pines, and open meadows — and three distinct ceremony settings to choose from: a wooden deck tucked into the forest, lakeside beneath a majestic oak, or fully indoors by the fire.

Every wedding here is tailor-made, from intimate elopements to all-inclusive celebrations. And our weather plan is unmatched: your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception can all move fully indoors, and we don't make the call until two hours before your ceremony (not the day before).

“The most amazing wedding — while I did the bare minimum.”

Nadine and her coordinators made my day feel romantic, intimate, and memorable without me lifting a finger. They took the grand feel I had in mind, kept it small, and exceeded every expectation — in my budget. They even reused flowers from a previous wedding to match my color scheme at no extra cost. My guests were in awe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wondering if Sugar Lake Weddings is right for your wedding? Just ask.

What is your guest capacity?

Up to 120 guests. Our sweet spot is 100 and under, and there's no minimum — intimate events are welcome. Off-season weddings (November, December, and April) are capped at 80 guests.

What's included in the venue rental?

14 hours of venue access with a 6-hour event window, our 40x60' sailcloth tent, ceremony chairs, cocktail bistros, reception tables and chairs with linen napkins, bartenders and security, a beverage package (sodas, juices, coffee, lemonade, mixers and more), golf cart, yard games, on-site parking and staff, rehearsal practice, welcome consultation, final walkthrough, table layout, and full setup, teardown, and cleaning. All taxes, service fees, and gratuity are included.

How does catering work?

Catering is not included in the venue rental — you'll bring in an outside caterer, who must be licensed and insured. We have a preferred caterer list; caterers outside the list incur a $5-per-person fee and meet with us beforehand to align expectations. Typical pricing runs $50–85 per person for buffets and $90–135 per person for plated dinners.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

No — alcohol is provided exclusively by Sugar Lake. Bar tiers range from a $15-per-person Mocktail Experience to a $65-per-person Craft Open Bar, with beer-and-wine and open-bar options in between. Non-alcoholic beverages (sodas, juices, coffee, lemonade, and mixers) are already included in your rental.

What happens if it rains?

Everything — ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception — can move fully indoors, including our Fireside indoor ceremony option. And unlike most venues, we don't force the call a day early: the weather decision happens just two hours before your ceremony, and your backup space is included at no extra charge.

How much does a Sugar Lake wedding cost?

2027 venue rental: $10,500 Fridays, $12,500 Saturdays, $9,500 Sundays — off-season (Nov, Dec, April) is $6,500 with an 80-guest cap. All taxes, service fees, and gratuity are included — no hidden fees.

Do you offer all-inclusive packages?

Yes — the Magnolia Collection is our premium package, combining full venue access with month-of coordination, full tent reception setup, in-house décor, elevated tableware, reception and cocktail linens, a DJ, and a two-tier cutting cake. The full-wedding Magnolia starts at $20,500, and we offer a micro Magnolia for smaller celebrations starting at $12,500. Both are quoted and tailored at your Welcome Session after booking — just ask our virtual planner for the details.

Can guests stay overnight?

Yes — the property sleeps up to 26 guests across our cottage and four cabins (cabins available May–October), and the Arbor House honeymoon cottage features a queen bed, kitchenette, and a private patio with a hot tub. Overnight pricing ranges from $500 to $2,500 depending on your package.

How long do we have the venue?

Full weddings include 14 hours of venue access with a 6-hour event window. Micro weddings include 10 hours of access with a 5-hour event window.
